The 1250 kVA Dry Type Transformer is a heavy-duty power solution designed for manufacturing plants and processing facilities where air quality is often compromised by dust or humidity. In these settings, standard open-ventilated units often fail because conductive particles bridge the insulation gaps.
To counter this, we categorize this unit as a fully encapsulated dry type transformer. The engineering logic is based on Surface Tracking Resistance. In environments rated as "Pollution Degree 3," airborne metal dust or chemical salts settle on the coils. On our units, the high-voltage conductors are buried deep inside a vacuum-cast resin cylinder with a high Comparative Tracking Index (CTI). This prevents the formation of carbonized conductive paths (electrical tracking) on the surface, allowing the unit to operate safely even when covered in a layer of factory grime.
Cast Coil Technology: Short-Circuit Stiffness
At 1250 kVA, the electromagnetic forces generated during a downstream fault are violent enough to warp standard wire-wound coils. Our cast coil dry type transformer addresses this through Monolithic Curing.
- Mechanical Physics: The epoxy resin and fiberglass reinforcement are cured into a single, solid cylinder. This structure has a mechanical strength comparable to rigid plastic composites. It completely immobilizes the copper/aluminum turns, preventing the axial telescoping or radial buckling that typically destroys transformers during high-current faults.
- Maintenance Reality: For maintenance teams referring to this unit simply as a trafo dry type, the smooth resin surface simplifies cleaning. Unlike VPI coils that trap dust in crevices, this unit can be cleaned with compressed air or wiped down rapidly during short scheduled outages.

Cooling & Capacity Extension
While the nameplate rating is 1250 kVA, industrial load profiles are rarely flat.
AF Thermal Reserve: This dry type unit includes pre-installed mounting channels for cross-flow fans. By switching from natural convection to forced convection, we significantly increase the heat transfer coefficient of the coil surface. Practically, this unlocks a continuous overload capacity of 40% (approx. 1750 kVA). This "hidden" capacity allows the transformer to absorb the heavy inrush currents from large motor startups without triggering a high-temperature trip.
